You visited a few times and I would appreciate your thoughts on this post, why not comment?
I am sure that you have read on message boards, articles and blog postings of the rise concerning the theft of articles.
Article theft is simply the taking of your article from a site that it is posted at without your permission. In many ways is a kin to a free-for-all. With regards to the lawlessness that is being perpetrated on the Internet
It is not uncommon that the rules that have been established are ignored. This means that we, the law abiding members of the Internet marketing community, have a rough road ahead. It may be a surprise to you, but most people don’t take any retaliation of any kind in most cases of article theft. Why? simply because there is no time to be wasted with monitoring every article that you write. Imagine that over the course of a year, you might write 2000-4000 articles. It’s virtually impossible to police it all.
Checking every link in your site, as some authors I know to, is extremely time-consuming and tedious work. If I find that someone has copied an article of mine but kept the content and links in place, then there’s really nothing to worry about. On the other hand though, if someone takes my article and alters the content, paragraph headers, or credits himself as the author, that’s when I would contact the guilty party, expecting that corrections be made, or they would be reported.
If it’s a simple case of links being broken though, that I usually just let it go. The way I look at it, time is money. If I’m spending all my time policing, then I’m not writing. Therefore I’m not using my time wisely. I’d rather use my time wisely, making money instead of losing time by chasing article thieves.
