Try writing something entirely different, something unrelated to the story you’re hassling with. Take some time off from it. The well will fill back up.

Step away from it for a little while. Go see a movie, walk around the city, talk to a stranger. It seems to help me! Good Luck!

Don’t concentrate on your writer’s block. Bring a notebook and pen wherever you go and the idea will come!

take a walk or something exercise realated. the cause is pr obably trying too hard instead of finding the story let it find you in a sense. try to clear your mind!!!!!!

To avoid writers block write about topics you are very familiar with, such as yourself. There is no one more interesting than you, so put it to paper. If you get blocked with that than ask people close to you what they think of when they think of you. The best part is you can keep the story as an memoir or change details or change the story line as you wished it had gone and then you have fiction.

Read other stuff by other authors.
"Buried Alive: A Discussion on Overcoming the Seven Lifeless Sins" is the best book I’ve read in a while.
It has a variety of writing styles and approaches to jog your potential.

ive had writers block b4!! im writing a novel, so its mite be different but, sometimes i just take a break, do other stuff for a while. sometimes an idea just comes to you. or maybe it comes from something your doing. anyways, it really kinda depends on the person i guess. what keeps your mind distracted from things. try that. what keeps your mind active and imaginative? try that. thats really about the best i can give you!

THIS IS THE WRITING POLICE, STAND UP AND STEP AWAY FROM THE STORY!
thats all you have to do, step away for a little while, go do something else. go for a walk, see a movie, get laid, anything. just don’t write. if you force yourself you’ll only make it worse and anything you do write you won’t be happy with.
you can’t force a good idea to come.
However, if you have a good idea but cannot find the words top put it on paper and anything you write feels like garbage, have a drink. and i mean a DRINK, alcohol.
IMPORTANT BIT: not enough to get you drunk, you don’t want that because when you get too druk you eiher can’t work your fingers to write properly or you cannot actually think of anything. You need a very subtle area known as slightly inebriated: you shouldn’t drive but you are still coherent and might even pass a drunk test like the alphabet backwards and walking a straight line. It lowers the inhibitions and stress and you find a few ideas may begin to come to you then.
I wouldn’t recomend drinking for writing all of the time, only on occasion, every weekend at most. because you can become dependant on the drink and find you can’t write without it.
However if you are too young to drink alcohol i recomend this, i also recomend this if you don’t have a lot of money.
The cheeper way to lower the inhibitions is to write in the nude!!! it’s as weird as it sounds but don’t knock it, it works!!! after a couple of hours, or maybe days to get over the sheer oddness of it you find yourself getting over that ideas blockade and continuing onward.
obviously you want a private place where only certain pople, ie boyfriend/girlfriend, can see you.
